Mix Art Music & Dance to Get Fashion

The designers for this show have just been announced, they are: Li Cari, Design by Tal Sheyn, Jackie Christie, Celebrity Pink Jeans, Nuvula, and Urban Republic Clothing, with jewelry by Miasma Designs to compliment some of the runway looks.

The House of Jazmin Opens Up
For all of us in the fashion world, we have seen Jazmin founder of the label Li Cari go from small shows on the fringe of the fashion scene to closing Boxeight Fashion Week in March, 2009. We saw her launch her streetwear line from the collage campus quad to the high end boutiques on Melrose. All of this leading up to her 21st birthday where only her closest 1000 friends were welcomed to join in to celebrate the last day of filming on a new reality show on MTV called “House of Jazmin.” So that’s why she had those cameras following her around everywhere she went.
I’m excited to re-live the fashion events spread out over the last eight months through the eyes of MTV. It’s good to see MTV taking on the fashion world through the life of a young and upcoming designer. With or without the cameras Jazmin has accomplished a lot in the jungles of the LA Fashion World. If anything she has done what every designer needs (even if they say they don’t want it); she established a national platform to launch her brand to millions, ages 11 – 24. The MTV generation. The effect of that publicity coming in the form of a reality show has yet to be seen.
So while I’m watching to see if I made it into any shots in the background while attending the Li Cari events, I’ll also be wishing her the best as she holds onto the fashion world by a thread!
